Puznook Privacy Policy
Puznook (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is an offline-friendly collection of logic puzzle games. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used. We designed Puznook so you can play without creating an account.
1. Information we store on your device
Puznook stores a small amount of data locally on your device using on-device storage (not a cloud account database), including:
- Which puzzle levels you have completed and related progress
- Whether you have already seen each game’s short tutorial
- Coins, themes, daily rewards, streaks, and achievement status
- Your preference for optional daily challenge reminders (on or off)
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s storage will delete it. We do not require a login, and we do not sync progress to our servers.
2. Notifications (optional)
Puznook can send local reminders about the daily challenge (for example afternoon and evening nudges). These notifications are scheduled and shown on your device. They are not push messages from our servers, and we do not use a remote notification service to deliver them.
-
On Android 13 and newer, the system may ask for notification
permission (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS). You can allow or deny this request. - You can turn reminders on or off anytime in the app (Achievements → Daily reminders), or revoke notification permission in Android Settings.
- After a device reboot, the app may reschedule your reminders if they were enabled (uses the standard boot-completed broadcast for local alarms).
We do not use notification permission for marketing from third parties or for tracking outside the ad features described below.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Puznook shows third-party ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), including:
- Banner ads on Home, level lists, and gameplay screens
- Interstitial ads after some level clears
- Optional rewarded ads (for example for an extra life or coins when you choose to watch)
Google and its partners may collect and process device and usage information to deliver and measure ads, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob policies. On Android this can include the advertising ID where available. You can limit ad personalization in your device settings (for example “Delete advertising ID” / ads personalization controls) and through any in-ad or system consent flows that appear.
Puzzle progress, coins, and reminder preferences remain stored on your device as described above; we do not operate our own ad or analytics servers.
4. Information we do not collect ourselves
Puznook itself does not:
- Create user accounts or profiles
- Collect your name, email, phone number, or payment card details
- Track your precise location
- Access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- Sell your personal information
- Upload your gameplay progress to our own servers for analytics
5. Internet access
The Android app requests the INTERNET permission so ads can load, and so in-app links (privacy policy, support email) can open in the system browser or mail app. Core puzzle gameplay and local progress still work offline; ads require a network connection when shown.
6. Children
Puznook is a general-audience puzzle app. It is not directed at children under 13 as a children’s social product, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children for our own use. Because the app shows AdMob ads, parents and guardians should review device ad settings and may clear app data or uninstall the app to remove local progress. Daily reminders can be disabled in the app or in Android Settings.
7. Data safety summary (Google Play)
For Google Play’s Data safety section, the current version’s intended declaration includes:
- Gameplay progress and preferences are stored on device; we do not collect them on our own servers.
- No account is required.
- The app contains ads. Google AdMob (and partners) may collect device identifiers and related data for advertising, as described in Google’s policies.
- Optional local notifications may be used for daily challenge reminders only, controlled by the user.
- Optional local crash notes and password-encrypted backups stay on device; they are not uploaded by the app.
8. Local diagnostics and encrypted backup
Puznook may keep a short crash log on your device when the app hits an unexpected error. These notes stay on the phone and are not uploaded to our servers. You can view or clear them in Settings → Crash log.
Optional progress backup lets you export an encrypted file (password protected) and import it later. The export is scrambled so it is not readable without your password. We never receive the file or the password unless you choose to send them yourself (for example by email to support).
9. Your choices
- Clear local progress by clearing Puznook’s app storage in Android Settings, or by uninstalling the app.
- Disable daily reminders in the app, or revoke notification permission in Android Settings.
- Limit ad personalization via Android advertising / privacy settings and any consent options shown with ads.

10. Changes
We may update this policy when features change. The “Effective date” above will be revised when that happens.
